On October 5th ambassador Wilczek met with Congressmen Chris Smith and Brendan Boyle to discuss Polish-American relations and the possibility of closer cooperation on issues crucial for Poland.

Talks with members of the House of Representatives covered the situation in Ukraine and the growing threat to Central and Eastern Europe from Russia. In this context, the importance of the presence of American troops in Poland was emphasized.

Issues relating to American LNG supplies to Poland and energy security in Central and Eastern Europe were also discussed.

Ambassador Wilczek mentioned events planned to commemorate the Year of Kosciuszko and invited the Congressmen to participate. As Congressman Boyle represents a district from Pennsylvania, the future of the Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial, so called the Kosciuszko House in Philadelphia, was also discussed.

Both Congressmen are members of the Congressional Poland Caucus.
