• Faithful to my Homeland, the Republic of Poland

    On December 11, Ambassador Piotr Wilczek presented the Amicus Poloniae award to Zbigniew Kantorosiński, a longtime employee of the Library of Congress.

    Zbigniew Kantorosiński, an employee of the Library of Congress and head of the Germanic and Slavic Division, is responsible for – among other things – the acquisition of Polish language publications to the collection of the Library of Congress.


    He was involved in the digitization project of the first thirteen volumes of the “Polish Declarations of Friendship and Admiration for the United States” in 2010.


    He is the author of several publications related to Poland, including “The Independent Press in Poland, 1976-1990: Holdings in the European and Prints & Photographs Divisions, Library of Congress” published in 1991 as well as the book entitled, "Emblem of Good Will": a Polish declaration of admiration and friendship for the United States of America” published in the United States in 1997.




    Mr. Kantorosiński is a member of the advisory committee of the Polish Institute of Arts and Science of America. He often supervises scholars from Poland, who utilize the collections of the Library of Congress in their research work.
